blackberry bbq salmon

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious.  Love salmon?  You'll love this!  Although I'm thinking that this sauce would even be amazing on shrimp or chicken... pretty much anything you would BBQ.  I couldn't get enough of it and neither could my family!

Servings 4-6
Total Time

  • 1/2 cup blackberry jam (you may substitute a different berry jam)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2-3 pounds salmon (1/3-1/2 pound per person)

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

In a small bowl whisk  together the first 8 ingredients.

Lay the salmon on a pan lined with parchment paper and brush on 1/2 of the BBQ sauce.

Bake a total of 8-10 minutes per pound.  I had two pounds, and although they were in smaller pieces, baked them for 25 minutes.  Before removing it from the oven take a fork and make sure that it is done.  When salmon is done it will easily flake apart.

Brush them with the remaining sauce and enjoy!!

Note:  This would also be terrific grilled.  Here are the directions...
Preheat your grill to it’s highest setting. Season the salmon with salt and pepper, and once the grill is hot, lay filet directly on top (skin side up). Cook for 3-5 minutes, then gently flip. Using a pastry brush, brush BBQ sauce on salmon and let cook until flaky and opaque, about 5-6 more minutes. This will also depend on the thickness of your salmon.  Once salmon is finished, slather with remaining BBQ sauce and serve.
